Marble Sculpture Process

 

Design and Conceptualization

The process begins with sketches and designs based on religious themes or specific requests from clients. Detailed drawings help visualize the final sculpture.

Selecting the Marble

High-quality marble is selected based on color, texture, and durability. The choice of marble greatly affects the final appearance of the sculpture.

Block Preparation

The chosen marble block is cut to size using specialized saws. This initial shaping provides the basic form of the sculpture.

Rough Carving

Using chisels and hammers, artisans begin to remove excess material, shaping the rough contours of the sculpture. This stage focuses on achieving the overall form.

Fine Carving

Detailed features are carved using finer tools. This stage requires great skill and precision to create intricate details such as facial expressions, drapery, and other religious symbols.

Smoothing and Polishing

The surface is smoothed using abrasives and polishing tools to enhance the marble’s natural luster. This step is crucial for achieving a beautiful finish.

Final Inspection

Each sculpture undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure it meets quality standards. Any necessary touch-ups or adjustments are made at this stage.

Protective Coating

A protective sealant may be applied to enhance durability and resist staining, especially for outdoor sculptures.

Packaging

>> The packaging is all made of a strong wood crate plus soft fixed.
>> The thickness of the packaged wood board is 3CM (other factories are 1-2CM, which is not strong)
>> The wooden crate is at least 15 cm above the ground, which makes loading more convenient.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Marble Religious Sculptures
